Peter Petron serves as Managing Director of HGI and Head of Asset Management. Mr. Petron is a member of HGI’s Investment and Credit Committees. In that role, working with the company’s acquisitions, operations, and investor relations teams, he oversees the formulation and implementation of business plans for all of the company’s direct equity and alternative investments. This includes all of the company’s investments in commercial and multifamily properties, whole loans, mezzanine debt and preferred equity, and Freddie Mac B notes. Mr. Petron has 30 years of real estate asset management experience. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Head of Portfolio and Asset Management for The Praedium Group, Principal and COO of the Real Estate Investments Group at Investcorp, and earlier worked in a variety of asset management, acquisitions, and loan workout roles at Clarion Partners, New York Life/Greystone Realty Corporation and its affiliate, Starwood Asset Management, and Citicorp Real Estate. Mr. Petron has a B.A. from Yale College and a Master’s in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
