Karen Schrah serves as Senior Vice President for Harbor Group Management Co. and is responsible for multifamily property operations and maximizing the investments of 23,000 units in 12 states including Chicago, Texas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts and manages eighteen properties, 5,049 units, for third party clients in the Maryland, Florida, Texas, and Virginia markets. Ms. Schrah’s role encompasses property management, leasing, marketing, construction, training, team building and is actively involved in underwriting of acquisitions, due diligence and capital enhancement programs.
Ms. Schrah leads a team of five Senior Regional Managers and thirteen regional managers.
Asset range includes high-rise, mid-rise, stabilized core and value-add.
Ms. Schrah has 30 years of experience in the multifamily industry. Prior to joining HGMC in 2006, Ms. Schrah served as regional manager for UDR, Inc., Anterra Realty, Alliance Residential and Lincoln Property Company. Ms. Schrah served on the Board of Directors for Tarrant County Apartment Association for 4 years and is currently serving as a Board Member for Living for Zachary.
Karen Schrah founded the Living for Zachary Organization in 2009 after her son Zachary, age 16, passed away from sudden cardiac arrest. Living for Zachary is dedicated to raising awareness of the prevention of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in youth. Karen's desire is to help save young lives from SCA by educating the community about the condition, promoting youth heart screening and by increasing placement of automated external defibrillators (AED's) in youth based organizations such as schools, recreation centers and churches.
